Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of Sri Lanka today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
A few showers may occur in the Eastern and Uva Provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and the Galle and Matara districts after 4.00 p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and the Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
Meanwhile, mainly fair weather will prevail in the sea areas around the island.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 40-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
