Evening showers are expected in some areas of Sri Lanka today, while mainly dry weather will prevail elsewhere on the island.
According to the Department of Meteorology, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, mainly fair weather will prevail in the sea areas around the island.
Winds will be south-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Batticaloa via Trincomalee, and winds will be north-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Matara via Pottuvil and Hambanthota.
Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island. wind speed will be 15-30 kmph.
