The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI), has decreased to 0.9% in March 2024.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, it has dropped 5% compared to the 5.9% that was recorded in February 2024.
Food inflation for March has, however, increased marginally to 3.8%, compared to the 3.5% reported in February.
Non-food inflation has decreased to (-0.5)% in March, compared to the 7% recorded in February this year.
