Showers are expected in several areas of Sri Lanka today, mostly in the afternoon, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-western provinces after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces, while several spells of showers may occur in the Eastern province.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, several spells of showers will occur in the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Galle via Hambantota.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. Sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate. (NewsWire)
