Sri Lanka Police have resorted to firing tear gas and water cannons to disperse two student protests.
The Police first took measures to disperse a protest that was held near the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Thereafter, the Police had also taken measures to disperse a protest that was held near the Moratuwa University.
It is reported that the demonstrations were organized in protest over a Cabinet decision to privatize higher education. (NewsWire)
