All arrangements have been made to commence the implementation of new visa methodology and new online methodology of the Department of Immigration and Emigration with effect from 17.04.2024.
The new visa methodology, relevant fees, requirements to be met and the period of staying in Sri Lanka have been published in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2360/24 dated 27.11.2023. (Relevant Gazette may be downloaded from the website www.documents.gov.lk).
Arrangements have been made together with GBS Technology Service & IVS Global Institute to implement the E-Visa system – the online methodology to be introduced in lieu of the ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) methodology implemented at present and its web link has been mentioned below.
You are kindly requested to take action to inform all the Press releasing Institutes to make aware the public in this regard. The Department of Immigration and Emigration intends to apply for visa fast and efficient through the introduction of applying for visa online methodology as above, to get attracted foreign tourists and investors through facilitating to obtain visa and to contribute to the economic development of Sri Lanka through getting enhanced the foreign exchange investment.
