Two elderly women have been found dead in a suspicious manner inside a house in the Isuru Uyana area in Kalutara on Wednesday (Apr 17).
The Police said neighbours had informed the Police emergency hotline after the two women had not been sighted for a few days and due to a foul smell being emitted from their house.
Upon inspecting the house through the window, the Police found the two women on the floor of their bedroom and deceased, while the house was found to be locked.
The two women have been identified as residents of the area aged 65 and 79 years.
The Magisterial inquiry into the death is to be conducted today, while the Kalutara Police is conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
