Showers are expected in some parts of Sri Lanka today, mostly in the afternoon, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in North-central, Central and Northwestern provinces and in Mannar districts during the afternoon or night.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle in the evening or night.
Winds will be variable in direction and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. The sea areas around the island will be slight.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (Newswire)
