The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in 11 districts, effective until 10.00 pm today.
According to the advisory, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
