Three people, including a child, have been killed after being struck by lightning during the inclement weather conditions experienced yesterday.
A 12-year-old girl and her 23-year-old brother have died after being struck by lightning in Ratthota last evening.
The Police said the siblings were struck by lightning while at their residence in the Welgalayaya area.
Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man died after being struck by lightning in the Ayyankulam area in Thunukkai, Mullaitivu yesterday. The deceased has been identified as a father of three.
A 26-year-old youth who was with the victim had also been struck by lightning and has been admitted to the Mallawi Hospital with serious injuries. (Newswire)
