Cabinet approval has been granted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Rwanda and Sri Lanka to exempt diplomatic, official or service passport holders from obtaining visas.
It proposes to exempt citizens holding diplomatic duty or service passports from obtaining visas for a period not exceeding 30 days as agreed between the two parties.
With the aim of improving bilateral relations between Rwanda and Sri Lanka, approval was given in May 2019 to sign an MoU to exempt the holders of diplomatic, duty or service passports from the two countries from the requirement to obtain visas.
According to the government, however, it has not been possible to sign the MoU till now.
Therefore, the Cabinet approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Public Security to sign the said MoU between Rwanda and Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
