The Department of Meteorology issued a weather advisory for the sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota.
Swell waves of about 2.5 to 3 meters in height and a wave period of around 12 to 16 seconds may increase in these areas.
Nearshore sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Matara via Colombo and Galle may experience surges due to swell waves.
The sea areas off the coast from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota can be rough at times.
The Meteorology Department urged the naval and fishing communities in these sea areas to be vigilant. (Newswire)
