Showers are expected in some provinces, mostly in the afternoon today, according to the Department of Meteorology.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Trincomalee to Pottuvil via Batticaloa can be fairly rough at times.
An increase of swell waves of about 2.0 – 2.5 m can be expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Balapitiya to Pottuvil via Galle and Hambantota. These sea areas can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight.
