A bag containing nearly 180 passports has been retrieved from a drain in the Maharagama area, it was reported.
Police investigations have revealed that a foreign employment agency in Maharagama had obtained the passports.
It is reported that the agency’s owner had defrauded close to Rs. 260 million from people seeking overseas employment.
The agency’s owner is said to have fled the area after defrauding the money. (Newswire)
