Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has refuted reports claiming star cricketer Kusal Mendis’ visa for the USA has been rejected.
Addressing the media, SLC CEO Ashley de Silva clarified that Kusal Mendis’ visa had not been rejected but is currently being processed.
Ashley de Silva further expressed hope that the visa would be received within the next day or two.
“There is a process to go through to obtain the visa and the US Embassy is in touch with the cricketer. The visa is being processed. The Embassy has requested extra information from the cricketer,” he said.
Ashley de Silva said the US Embassy has requested information regarding an incident involving the cricketer.
According to sources, the US Embassy is said to have requested information on the accident involving the cricketer in Panadura in 2020.
