Swiss International Airlines to resume operations in Colombo in November

Swiss International Airlines, operated by Edelweiss, concluded its winter schedule in Sri Lanka handling 8,600 passengers from November 2023 to May 2024.

After the successful completion of its winter schedule in Sri Lanka today (May 17) Swiss International Airlines will resume operations in Colombo in the first week of November 2024. 

According to the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), Edelweiss is wholly owned by Swiss International Airlines and is a part of the Lufthansa Group. It operates direct flights to Europe, North America, and beyond with Swiss International Airlines from its hub at Zurich Airport. 

Since its flight operation to Sri Lanka from 03rd November 2023 to 17th of May 2024, Edelweiss Flight has carried over 5,500 passengers to Sri Lanka and lifted more than 3,100 passengers. The airline operated A340-300 weekly flights from Zurich to Colombo until today.

Founded in 1995 and named after the Edelweiss flower, a symbol of Switzerland known for its resilience and beauty, the airline is committed to quality and customer satisfaction and has established itself as a prominent player in the aviation industry.
