Two CID Constables Arrested for Possession of Ice Drugs

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has announced that two constables attached to the department have been suspended for possession of ice (methamphetamine), the Lankadeepa reports.

The officers were arrested by the anti-corruption unit of the Kompannaveediya Police, who found one of them in possession of 130 milligrams of ice near a bar on Kumaran Ratnam Road in Kompannaveediya.

During questioning, it was revealed that the suspects were serving constables in the CID.

The police stated that to conduct further investigations, they will seek a report from a judicial medical officer to determine if the other constable, who was present with the one found in possession of drugs, is addicted to drugs.

The Kompannaveediya Police are conducting further investigations.
