A 32-year-old man was killed following an altercation with his uncle in Dodampe, Ratnapura. Police said the man, who had been stabbed, succumbed to his injuries upon admission to Ratnapura Hospital.
The suspect, a relative of the victim, reportedly fled the area, and Ratnapura Police are conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile, a woman who had gone to bathe in the Kumbukkan River was found murdered in Lunugala. Police said the 36-year-old woman’s husband is wanted on suspicion of murder.
Investigations revealed that the woman had obtained a protection order against her husband following domestic disputes. Police said the suspect reportedly fled the area. Lunugala Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
