A ten-year-old schoolgirl was killed when she was run over by a bus in Gampola this morning.
The accident took place when the child attempted to cross the road at Udahathenna, of New Kurunduwatta, Gampola. The deceased was a resident of Malgolla, Patitalawa area.
The child, seriously injured in the accident, was pronounced dead after she was admitted to the New Kurunduwatta Hospital.
The bus driver and conductor have been arrested in connection with the incident, while Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
