US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung engaged in a discussion with officials from Sri Lanka’s Election Commission on Tuesday (May 28).
Taking to ‘X’, Ambassador Chung said the meeting took place to hear about Sri Lanka’s plans for elections and to uphold a transparent process.
“As Sri Lanka, the U.S., and many countries face elections this year, we exchanged views on the importance of voting in free and fair elections as a pillar of democratic governance,” she added. (Newswire)
