Three young Sri Lankans who were found dead in a suspicious manner in Oman recently had died due to cardiac shock, with hospital authorities unable to ascertain the exact cause of death, it was reported.
According to Mawbima newspaper, the Sri Lankan Mission in Oman had disclosed that all three Sri Lankan youths were found dead inside a house by the Omani Police.
Among a group of five, three had died while the other two had been hospitalised and thereafter taken into Police custody.
The Sri Lankan Mission said that among the three deceased Sri Lankans, one person had arrived on a tourist visa, while the other two were holders of the Oman Resident Card.
The deceased youths who were employed as painters and in restaurants, have been identified as residents of Mahiyanganaya, Girandurukotte, and Kegalle.
The Sri Lankan Mission in Oman has informed Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry of the deaths, following which the Foreign Ministry has taken steps to inform their respective families.
The Oman Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
