A fire broke out in the rear engine of the Podi Menike train while at the Haputale Railway Station today, it was reported.
According to media reports, the train had been plying from Colombo- Fort to Badulla.
The fire had been doused by the Haputale Railway staff, together with the Police and area residents.
The Police stated that primary investigations have commenced, while the cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained. (Newswire)
