The prevailing rainy condition in the southwestern part of the island is expected to enhance to some extent in the next few days from tomorrow (June 08), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Accordingly, showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Several spells of showers will occur in the northwestern, Northern and North-central provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts in the evening or night.
Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-central, and Northwestern provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
