The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) regarding a fake letter claiming that party leader Sajith Premadasa accepted an invitation to a debate hosted by the Independent Television Network.
Speaking to the media, legal counsel for Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) said that they hope for a fair investigation into the matter, as a similar complaint had been lodged by the party on April 26.
The document allegedly shared on social media concerns the participation of SJB leader Sajith Premadasa in a much-anticipated debate with NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake last week.
Only Dissanayake participated in the live broadcast, with the SJB stating that the party never accepted an invitation for Premadasa to take part in the said programme. (Newswire)
