A Ugandan national has been apprehended at the Katunayake Airport for the possession of 1.74 kilos of cocaine.
According to the Police, the 31-year-old suspect had transported the narcotics by swallowing 72 pellets of cocaine.
He had been arrested upon his arrival from Qatar on Saturday during a raid conducted by the Police Narcotic Bureau officials at the airport.
Upon being admitted at the Negombo Hospital, the Police were able to recover 72 pellets of cocaine that had been concealed in the suspect’s body. (Newswire)
