The National Dengue Control Unit says the number of dengue high-risk zones has increased to 14 MOH Divisions.
According to the Unit, the highest number of dengue patients, 5,624, were reported from the Colombo District.
Jaffna District follows behind with 3,930 dengue patients, while 2,487 dengue cases have been detected in Gampaha, 1,986 in Kandy, 1,441 in Ratnapura, and 1,372 in Kalutara.
The National Dengue Control Unit has warned of an increase in the dengue disease due to the prevalent rainy weather conditions in Sri Lanka.
As per the Unit, a total of 971 dengue cases have been reported within the first 11 days of June 2024.
A total of 25,891 dengue cases and 09 dengue-related deaths have been reported so far this year. (Newswire)
