Joes Rugby Season kicks off with Acorn Group

The 2024 Inter-School Rugby Season of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, was kicked off at a glittering event to present their sponsors and unveil the official players’ jersey.

The lively ceremony at Elevate by Jetwing was attended by a number of distinguished invitees. Among them were Rev. Fr. Ranjith Andradi, Rector, St. Joseph’s College, Rev. Fr. Ruwan Deshapriya, Vice Rector, St. Joseph’s College, Rev. Fr. Samesh Anthony, Prefect of Games, St. Joseph’s College, Malinga Arsakularatne, Chief Executive Officer, Acorn Group and Harith Perera, Partner, Acorn Group, along with other business leaders and past players including members from the esteemed Hornets Group, the pioneers of rugby at St. Joseph’s College Colombo.

In recent years, Joes Rugby has been boosted by great performances by its rugby teams and this season is expected to be no different. The ‘Saints’ from Darley Road will be vying for top honours given their rich rugby tradition and enviable success in the sport.
