Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer MP Namal Rajapaksa has warned the people in the North to be cautious of politicians who change their policies to secure votes.
MP Rajapaksa cautioned the people in the North, including the main political party in the North, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), to be mindful of policy changes ahead of the anticipated elections.
The SLPP MP pointed out that the implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was a key policy mentioned by many politicians at present.
He urged the people in the North to trust politicians who have been supportive of the implementation of the 13th Amendment from the beginning and the parties that have opposed it from its inception.
The MP warned, however, to be cautious of those who are changing their stance ahead of the anticipated elections, stressing that they are only aimed at securing votes.
MP Namal Rajapaksa also pointed out that the political parties that had called for the abolishment of the Executive Presidency have now changed their stance, portraying the ‘double standards’ of these political parties. (Newswire)
