Natasha Edirisooriya & Bruno Divakara released from controversial statement case

Sri Lankan standup comedian Natasha Edirisooriya and Bruno Divakara, the owner of SL-Vlogs, have been released from the case related to allegedly making controversial statements on Buddhism.

Natasha Edirisooriya and Bruno Divakara were released from the case by the Fort Magistrate’s Court today. 

In May 2023, Natasha Edirisooriya was arrested for allegedly insulting Buddhism during a stand-up comedy show held in Colombo.

Soon after, Bruno Divakara was arrested for having shared video footage of the show on his YouTube channel ‘SL-Vlogs’, which went viral on social media. 

The duo were initially remanded over the offence but were later granted bail by the Fort Magistrate’s Court. (Newswire)
