Following a complaint lodged with the Illegal Assets and Property Investigation Division of the CID by the Magen Ratata Organisation, an investigation has been launched into the wealth and assets of popular model Piumi Hansamali.
Following allegations that she has acquired substantial properties through organized crime and illegal activities, investigators informed the court that the model maintains 19 accounts across eight major banks in Sri Lanka. Investigators were instructed to submit a report on the accounts.
Meanwhile, a Range Rover valued at Rs. 78 million and a luxury residential property worth Rs. 148 million in Colombo were also ordered to be probed.
The model’s stated source of income is a cosmetic manufacturing company, the court was informed. The company and its operations were also ordered to be investigated. (Newswire)
