These trainers will lead a select group of 24 participants through an intensive three-day program. The training will cover navigating rapid waters, mastering advanced rescue techniques, and includes night training to simulate real-life scenarios.

Since 2017, A-PAD has been at the forefront of conducting international swift-water search and rescue training in Sri Lanka, catering to military, police, and civil volunteers. With a total of 160 personnel having undergone Level One and Level Two training to date, A-PAD remains committed to upholding international standards of excellence in disaster response.

This year’s training will focus on enhancing the skill level of personnel who have previously qualified in Level One swift water search and rescue conducted by A-PAD. With a rigorous curriculum designed in accordance with international swift-water search and rescue standards, Level Two training will entail navigating rapid waters and mastering more strenuous rescue techniques.

The primary objective of the training is to enhance disaster response methodologies for sudden-onset disasters, adhering to internationally accepted Level Two swift water SAR standards. A-PAD aims to develop skilled professionals ready to respond to swift water emergencies and share their expertise, while fostering civil-military and private sector cooperation and promoting excellence in disaster response across the Asia Pacific region.
