The Overall Rate of Inflation, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) year-on-year, has dropped to 1.6% in May 2024.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure recorded in May is a drop from the 2.7% reported in April this year.
Accordingly, food inflation has dropped to 0.5% in May from the 3.3% recorded in April.
However, non-food inflation has increased marginally to 2.4% from April’s figure of 2.3%.
