A new salary structure will be introduced for the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), along with a new performance based incentive and promotion system, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said.
The Minister made the announcement following a meeting held with CEB trade unions recently, stating that the new changes will take place over the next few weeks.
The existing approved CEB employee carder of over 26,000 will be revised, in order to reduce the number of employees recruited in the future, Wijesekera said.
During the meeting, several key issues were discussed, including the structure of the reforms, the timeline for implementing various tasks, appointments to successor companies, human resource management, and salary structures. Additionally, policy and management decisions were deliberated upon with trade unions, the Minister said. (Newswire)
