Senior Additional Solicitor General Parinda Ranasinghe is to be appointed as the Acting Attorney General of Sri Lanka. He is set sworn in before the Chief Justice tomorrow, July 1, Ada Derana reports.
Last week, reports indicated that the proposal to extend the term of the current Attorney General, Sanjay Rajaratnam, by another six months was rejected at the Constitutional Council meeting.
