Young tourist found safe after going missing in Sri Lanka

In a turn of relief and joy, 25-year-old Israeli tourist Tamar Amitai, who had gone missing on Wednesday while visiting Sri Lanka, has been located. According to Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman, a coordinated effort involving the Police, Army, Divisional Secretariat, Uppuvali Pradhya Sabha, and the Tourism Bureau of the Eastern Province successfully located her.

Governor Thondaman reported that Amitai was found in Sallikovil, a few kilometers away from the hotel where she was staying. The discovery came as part of a special operation initiated by the Governor’s Secretariat, focusing on monitoring and search efforts in the region.

Details surrounding her disappearance and subsequent discovery remain under investigation. However, officials have expressed gratitude and appreciation for the swift and effective teamwork that led to locating the missing tourist.
