21 yr old arrested for recording Sagala’s convoy

A 21-year-old student has been arrested for allegedly having recorded footage on his mobile phone of the vehicle convoy of Senior Advisor to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayaka. 

According to Lankadeepa newspaper, the youth, who is a resident of Pottuvil, was arrested near 28th Lane Junction on Sir Earnest De Silva Mawatha in Colpetty, while the Police had taken custody of his phone.

During interrogation, the youth had revealed that he had arrived in Colombo with a 44-year-old man also from Pottuvil to visit the UAE Embassy.

He further revealed that he had recorded footage on his mobile phone of the vehicle convoy as he had not seen a VIP vehicle convoy with Police protection before. 

The Colpetty Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
