The contract to provide bidding services and related ancillary services for the automatic booking of upper-class seats in SriLankan Airlines will be awarded to Plusgrade Inc., following a Cabinet decision.
At present, Plusgrade system is used by SriLankan Airlines (Pvt) Ltd for providing bidding services and related ancillary services for the automatic booking of upper-class seats.
When there are unreserved seats available in the business class, an opportunity is provided for a passenger whose ticket is economy class, to bid for a business class ticket. The service is aimed at increasing revenue for the airline.
According to the government, bidding was called to maintain this service under an international competitive bidding system and two (02) bids were received.
The Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Aviation to award the contract for the provision of these bidding services and related ancillary services for the automatic booking of upper-class seats in SriLankan Airlines to Plusgrade Inc. for 5 years.
The contract is to be awarded on the recommendation of the Technical Evaluation Committee and Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers based on the evaluation of the said bids. (Newswire)
