The bodies of two children who were reported missing after having drowned while bathing in an abandoned water-filled quarry at Kawanthissapura in Tissamaharama have been found.
According to the Police Media Unit, the two girls were reported missing after having drowned last evening, while their bodies had been recovered today.
The children had reportedly gone to bathe along with their mother, during which they had drowned, while the mother’s body was recovered yesterday.
The bodies of the children, aged 09 and 14 years, were recovered by divers during a search operation conducted by the Police this morning.
The deceased have been identified as residents of the Kawanthissapura area in Tissamaharama. (Newswire)
