A 26-year-old youth has died in a shooting reported at Pillayar Junction in the Gemunupura area in Sripura early this morning.
The Police said an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle had shot the man and fled the area.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect had used a T-56 firearm to carry out the shooting.
The cause of the shooting is yet to be ascertained, while the Sripura Police is conducting investigations to apprehend the suspect.
The deceased, who had died at the spot, has been identified as a resident of Kawantissapura in Sripura. (Newswire)
