Sri Lanka bowling coach Aaqib Javid says fast bowler Asitha Fernando is the bowler to be watchful of in the ongoing tournament against England.
Addressing the media, Aaqib Javid said Fernando’s unique bowling style is something he is seeing after Pakistan’s Mohamed Asif.
“Not many people know about his ability. Without changing his wrist, in one spot he can swing the ball both ways. I told him that after Mohammed Asif, I have seen the quality only in him. If he finds the right spot, he will have a very successful career,” the bowling coach said.
Aaqib Javid said Asitha Fernando is gifted with talent and is gaining more confidence in his bowling.
His comments came after England were leading by 23 runs at stumps on Day 2 of the first test against Sri Lanka played at Manchester, England. (Newswire)
