The sun will be directly over four cities in the North today due to its apparent southward relative motion, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Accordingly, the nearest places in Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today are Oddusuddan, Mankulam, Terankandal and Mallavi at about 12.11 pm.
The sun will be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka until 06 September 2024.
