The sun will be directly over four cities in the Northern Province today, due to its apparent southward relative motion.
Accordingly, the nearest places of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today are Vavuniya, Vannamoddai, Analkaddimady and Periyapandirichchan at about 12.10 pm.
The Department of Meteorology states the sun is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka until 06 September 2024.
