Nearly 80 key ministers and Parliamentarians are preparing to leave the country after the Presidential polls on 21 September 2024, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mujibur Rahman said.

Addressing the media, MP Rahman said several ministers and key persons who had acted as spokespersons for President Ranil Wickremesinghe are set to leave the country.

“Information has come to light that they have realised Ranil Wickremesinghe’s true nature. Some of them who regret their actions have realised that they have lost the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and cannot continue with the President, and are at a crossroads now,” the SJB MP said.

Stating that around 80 of these figures have already secured their visas, MP Rahman said that it has become clear to them that Ranil Wickremesinghe was no longer their protector.

MP Rahman further said the group had also realised that the President was only using them to work towards National Peoples’ Power (NPP) candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s victory. (Newswire)
