The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has clarified that the “Present Arms” salute seen in a viral video was conducted solely in honor of Prof. G. L. Peiris, MP in accordance with standard SLAF practices.
The video, which shows opposition leader Sajith Premadasa’s wife walking alongside MP Peiris, sparked confusion, with many questioning whether the salute was directed at her. The SLAF emphasized that the ceremonial courtesy was strictly for the MP, as is customary for members of Parliament, and not for any other individual present in the footage. (Newswire)
