A 30-year-old man was reported dead due to gunshot injuries in the Nammuwawa area in Rasnayakapura early this morning, becoming the fourth shooting reported in the last 24 hours.
The Police said the man was found inside an eatery in the area based on information received by the Rasnayakapura Police.
Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the man had died due to gunshot injuries. The Rasnayakapura Police has launched investigations to apprehend the suspects wanted over the shooting.
A 43-year-old shop owner was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle at Saranankara Mawatha in Dehiwala last night, becoming the first shooting to be reported in the last 24 hours.
Thereafter, a 32-year-old man was reported dead with gunshot wounds in Tangalle last night, becoming the second shooting incident.
The third shooting incident was that of a 38-year-old owner of a fish shop who was reported dead after being shot by two unknown gunmen on a motorcycle in Midigama, Matara early this morning. (Newswire)
