The 38-year-old owner of a fish shop was reported dead after being shot by two unknown gunmen on a motorcycle in the Goviyaapana area in Midigama, Matara early this morning.
The Police said the gunmen had opened fire at the man while at his fish shop, during which two other customers had also sustained injuries.
The fish shop owner and the two customers had been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital with injuries, after which the former had succumbed to injuries.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the shooting had been orchestrated by an organized criminal residing overseas.
The Midigama Police has launched investigations to apprehend the suspects wanted in connection to the shooting. (Newswire)
