President Ranil Wickremesinghe has declared all services related to the supply of electricity and fuel as essential services through an extraordinary gazette issued on Friday, September 20.
The Gazette, issued under Section 2 of the Essential Public Services Act No. 61 of 1979, designates the supply and distribution of electricity, petroleum products, and fuel as essential public services.
