The Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake has confirmed that Laxman Nipuna Arachchi will be appointed as a Member of Parliament (MP) filling the vacancy left by National Peoples’ Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
MP Dissanayake’s Parliament seat became vacant after he was elected as the ninth Executive President of Sri Lanka.
Laxman Nipuna Arachchi, who was next in line from the Colombo district on the NPP’s preferential voting in the 2020 election, will fill the Parliamentary seat left vacant by MP Dissanayake. (Newswire)
