SJB MP Tissa Attanayake critcized claims that whichever party he supports is bound to lose an election. Speaking to media, the SJB MP said that these claims are now part of a customary effort to attack him.
“Name one person who has always won? In that case, Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s party lost for 60 odd years. We have worked very hard, and you can either win or lose. There are no constant winners or losers,” the MP said.
Questioning the rationale of such statements, Attanayake said these claims have been made by vindictive and mentally-ill persons. “Those who ask such questions should be sent to Angoda, because they are not the ones who engage in politics,” he said.
Asked if former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has extended an invitation to Attanayake to form an alliance, he said no such invitation has been made. “I will not accept such an invitation even if it was extended. The talks of Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa forming an alliance are made by outsiders. It’s not a conversation between the two,” Attanayake said. (Newswire)
