President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has achieved a significant social media milestone, becoming the 6th Sri Lankan politician to surpass one million followers on Facebook.
This places him alongside former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, Maithripala Sirisena, and Gotabaya Rajapaksa, opposition MP Namal Rajapaksa, and former MP Ranjan Ramanayake who have similarly amassed large online followings of over one million.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is the Sri Lankan politician with the highest number of Facebook followers, which is 1. 4 million, followed by his son Namal Rajapaksa with 1.3 million followers.
